We Celebrate the life of Scott Stayart, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
A Life Well-Lived
December 22, 1946
Scott Harry Stayart, 77, of Sarasota, FL passed away on December 5, 2024 of Covid 19. The funeral service will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery on January 31, 2025 at 10am. A Celebration of Life will follow at noon at Village Walk Town Center.
Scott was born in Chicago, IL on December 22, 1946, the youngest of 6 kids. After graduation from Lane Tech, Scott enlisted in the Army. From 1966 to 1970, he fought in the Vietnam War where he earned a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. When he returned to the states, he went on to Northern Illinois University and graduated with a bachelor's in Marketing.
On December 4, 1983, Scott married Susan Elliott and they enjoyed 41 years together, 2 kids, and 4 grand daughters. During those years, Scott was in sales in the chemical and adhesive industry.
Scott enjoyed golf, tennis, fishing and just being on the water in any way. Scott was also actively involved in the Folds of Honor foundation.
Scott is survived by his wife, Susan, his son Kevin (Spouse Ali), his daughter Kelsey (Spouse Nick) and his four granddaughters, Eve, Grace, Elliott and Collette. He is also survived by his sisters Dorothy Duchslag and Linda McCaffery. And also survived by his oldest brother, Charles Stayart and his wife, Rocky.
Scott is preceded in death by his oldest sister, Barbara May and his brother William Stayart.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Folds of Honor foundation.
